Información clara sobre las principales condiciones de arriendo de TP Rentacar. Te recomendamos revisarlas antes de realizar tu reserva.
1 Duración mínima del arriendo y garantía
Nuestro sistema de reservas considera arriendos de 4 días o más, con kilometraje libre.
Para períodos inferiores a 4 días no se aceptan reservas directamente a través de nuestro sistema. Si necesita un vehículo por un período menor, puede consultarnos previamente. Dependiendo de la disponibilidad y de nuestras condiciones de operación, TP Rentacar podrá evaluar excepcionalmente la posibilidad de ofrecer el servicio, bajo condiciones particulares que serán informadas antes de su aceptación.
Antes de la entrega del vehículo se solicitará una garantía de $800.000 CLP mediante tarjeta de crédito, destinada a respaldar las obligaciones derivadas del arriendo.
Excepcionalmente y previa autorización de TP Rentacar, podrá aceptarse una garantía mediante efectivo o transferencia bancaria. En estos casos, el monto de la garantía corresponderá al doble del monto de la garantía habitual, más los impuestos correspondientes.
La garantía es independiente del deducible o franquicia del seguro y será liberada o restituida, según corresponda, una vez finalizado el arriendo y verificadas las obligaciones pendientes.
2 Requisitos del conductor
El arrendatario y cada conductor autorizado deben presentar un documento de identidad o pasaporte y una licencia de conducir vigente y válida para el vehículo arrendado.
La edad mínima para conducir es de 21 años para automóviles, SUV, camionetas y vehículos de hasta 7 pasajeros, y de 25 años para vehículos con capacidad superior a 7 pasajeros.
Solo podrán conducir el vehículo las personas identificadas y autorizadas en el contrato de arrendamiento.
3 Formas y condiciones de pago
TP Rentacar acepta los siguientes medios de pago:
Tarjetas de crédito y débito, PayPal, efectivo y transferencia bancaria.
El valor total del arriendo deberá estar pagado antes de la entrega del vehículo. Al mismo tiempo, el arrendatario deberá constituir la garantía correspondiente, de acuerdo con las condiciones señaladas en el Punto 1.
El pago del arriendo y la constitución de la garantía son conceptos independientes. La entrega del vehículo se realizará una vez que ambos se encuentren efectuados.
Los valores podrán informarse en pesos chilenos (CLP) y, cuando corresponda, en monedas extranjeras de referencia. El monto, moneda y forma de pago aplicables quedarán establecidos al momento de confirmar la reserva o el arriendo.
4 ¿Qué incluye la tarifa?
La tarifa de arriendo incluye:
- IVA, cuando corresponda.
- Kilometraje libre para los arriendos regulares de 4 días o más.
- Hasta 2 conductores autorizados, debidamente identificados e incorporados al contrato.
- El uso del vehículo durante el período, lugares y condiciones establecidos en la reserva y posteriormente en el contrato.
Si se requiere incorporar un conductor adicional, podrá seleccionarse como servicio opcional al momento de solicitar la reserva, sujeto a las condiciones correspondientes.
5 Seguro, deducibles y coberturas
Los vehículos de TP Rentacar cuentan con seguro. En caso de un siniestro cubierto por la póliza, se aplicarán los siguientes deducibles o franquicias:
- 30 UF + IVA: deducible aplicable a daños parciales cubiertos por el seguro, es decir, aquellos que no correspondan a volcamiento, desbarrancamiento o pérdida total.
- 60 UF + IVA: deducible aplicable en caso de volcamiento, desbarrancamiento o pérdida total del vehículo.
- Para vehículos con capacidad superior a 7 pasajeros, el deducible correspondiente aumenta en 10 UF + IVA.
La cobertura general del seguro no incluye daños a neumáticos ni cristales, salvo que el arrendatario haya contratado expresamente una cobertura adicional que los incluya.
Los deducibles señalados anteriormente corresponden a eventos cubiertos por el seguro. Cuando un daño o siniestro se produzca bajo una circunstancia excluida de cobertura, el deducible no constituye necesariamente el límite de responsabilidad del arrendatario.
Ante cualquier accidente, daño, robo o siniestro, el arrendatario deberá comunicarse inmediatamente con TP Rentacar y seguir las instrucciones entregadas para la correcta gestión del evento y de las coberturas aplicables.
6 Servicios, gastos y daños no incluidos
Salvo que se indique expresamente lo contrario en la reserva o se contrate como servicio adicional, la tarifa de arriendo no incluye:
- Combustible.
- Traslados o cruces en ferry.
- Entradas a parques, áreas protegidas u otros recintos.
- Gastos de rescate, remolque, traslado o retorno del vehículo cuando correspondan al arrendatario.
- Reposición de llaves por pérdida, extravío o daño atribuible al arrendatario.
- Reparación de neumáticos por pinchazos u otros daños, ni el traslado o suministro de un neumático de reemplazo.
En cuanto al seguro, y como se indicó en el Punto 5, la cobertura general no incluye daños a neumáticos ni cristales, salvo que se haya contratado expresamente una cobertura adicional que los incluya.
Cuando el vehículo se encuentre fuera de Chile, la posibilidad de prestar asistencia, reemplazar el vehículo o realizar un rescate estará sujeta a las restricciones legales, aduaneras, territoriales y logísticas existentes en el lugar del incidente.
Los servicios opcionales y las coberturas adicionales contratados por el cliente se regirán por las condiciones informadas al momento de la reserva y por lo establecido en el contrato de arrendamiento.
7 Uso del vehículo y caminos permitidos
Los vehículos de TP Rentacar pueden utilizarse en caminos y rutas habilitados y aptos para el tránsito vehicular, tanto pavimentados como de ripio.
La circulación por caminos de ripio está permitida, siempre que se trate de rutas habilitadas y adecuadas para el tránsito normal del vehículo arrendado. El conductor deberá adaptar la velocidad y conducción a las condiciones del camino, clima y visibilidad.
No está permitido utilizar el vehículo para conducción off-road ni circular por huellas, playas, dunas, terrenos no consolidados o sectores que no constituyan caminos habilitados para tránsito vehicular, salvo autorización previa y expresa de TP Rentacar.
El arrendatario deberá utilizar el vehículo de acuerdo con sus características y categoría, evitando situaciones que puedan exponerlo innecesariamente a daños o condiciones para las cuales no fue diseñado.
La salida del vehículo fuera de Chile requiere autorización previa de TP Rentacar y el cumplimiento de la documentación, permisos y condiciones correspondientes.
8 Reserva, entrega, devolución y extensión del arriendo
La reserva garantiza la categoría del vehículo contratado, no necesariamente una marca o modelo específico. El vehículo entregado será de características similares dentro de la categoría reservada.
Si por razones de disponibilidad, mantención, desperfecto u otra circunstancia operativa no fuera posible disponer de un vehículo de la categoría reservada, TP Rentacar informará al cliente y podrá ofrecer una alternativa disponible.
El vehículo deberá ser retirado y devuelto en los lugares, fechas y horarios acordados en la reserva y establecidos posteriormente en el contrato.
Si el arrendatario necesita conservar el vehículo por más tiempo, deberá solicitar una extensión antes del vencimiento del arriendo. La solicitud no implica su aprobación automática: la extensión deberá ser expresamente autorizada por TP Rentacar, estará sujeta a disponibilidad y podrá generar cargos adicionales.
Si el vehículo es devuelto después de la fecha u hora acordada sin una extensión previamente autorizada, podrán aplicarse los cargos correspondientes por atraso de acuerdo con las condiciones del contrato.
El vehículo deberá devolverse con el nivel de combustible registrado al momento de su entrega, salvo que se haya acordado expresamente una condición diferente.
El nivel de combustible, kilometraje y estado general del vehículo podrán quedar registrados en el checklist de entrega y devolución, el cual forma parte de la documentación del arriendo.
9 Accidentes, daños y siniestros
En caso de accidente, daño, robo o cualquier otro siniestro, el arrendatario deberá comunicarse inmediatamente con TP Rentacar y seguir las instrucciones entregadas para la correcta gestión del evento y de las coberturas correspondientes.
Cuando existan personas lesionadas, deberá además dar aviso inmediato a la autoridad policial competente.
El arrendatario no deberá efectuar reparaciones, autorizar trabajos ni alcanzar acuerdos con terceros relacionados con el siniestro sin autorización previa de TP Rentacar, salvo aquellas actuaciones urgentes que resulten necesarias para proteger a las personas o evitar un daño mayor al vehículo.
El arrendatario deberá proporcionar los antecedentes, documentos, fotografías y demás información necesaria para la correcta tramitación del siniestro y colaborar con TP Rentacar y la compañía aseguradora cuando corresponda.
Los cargos derivados del siniestro que correspondan al arrendatario serán informados por TP Rentacar y deberán pagarse de acuerdo con las condiciones y plazos establecidos en el contrato de arrendamiento.
Cuando el siniestro ocurra fuera de Chile, la asistencia, rescate, traslado o retorno del vehículo estará sujeta a las condiciones legales, aduaneras, territoriales y logísticas aplicables.
Rental Conditions

1Minimum rental period and security deposit
Our reservation system is designed for rentals of 4 days or more, with unlimited mileage.
For periods shorter than 4 days, reservations cannot be made directly through our system. If you need a vehicle for a shorter period, you may contact us in advance. Depending on availability and our operating conditions, TP Rentacar may exceptionally evaluate the possibility of providing the service, subject to specific conditions that will be informed before acceptance.
Before the vehicle is delivered, a CLP $800,000 security deposit by credit card will be required to secure the obligations arising from the rental.
Exceptionally and with prior authorization from TP Rentacar, a security deposit may be accepted in cash or by bank transfer. In these cases, the security deposit will be twice the standard security deposit amount, plus the applicable taxes.
The security deposit is separate from the insurance deductible or excess and will be released or refunded, as applicable, once the rental has ended and any outstanding obligations have been verified.
2Driver requirements
The renter and each authorized driver must present an identity document or passport and a valid driver's license appropriate for the rented vehicle.
The minimum driving age is 21 years for cars, SUVs, pickup trucks and vehicles with capacity for up to 7 passengers, and 25 years for vehicles with capacity for more than 7 passengers.
Only persons identified and authorized in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
3Payment methods and conditions
TP Rentacar accepts the following payment methods:
Credit and debit cards, PayPal, cash and bank transfer.
The full rental amount must be paid before the vehicle is delivered. At the same time, the renter must provide the applicable security deposit in accordance with the conditions described in Section 1.
Payment of the rental and provision of the security deposit are separate concepts. The vehicle will be delivered once both have been completed.
Prices may be quoted in Chilean pesos (CLP) and, where applicable, in foreign currencies for reference. The applicable amount, currency and payment method will be established when the reservation or rental is confirmed.
4What is included in the rate?
The rental rate includes:
- VAT, where applicable.
- Unlimited mileage for regular rentals of 4 days or more.
- Up to 2 authorized drivers, duly identified and included in the rental agreement.
- Use of the vehicle during the period, in the locations and under the conditions established in the reservation and subsequently in the rental agreement.
If an additional driver is required, this may be selected as an optional service when requesting the reservation, subject to the applicable conditions.
5Insurance, deductibles and coverage
TP Rentacar vehicles are insured. In the event of a claim covered by the policy, the following deductibles or excess amounts apply:
- 30 UF + VAT: deductible applicable to partial damage covered by insurance, meaning damage that does not involve rollover, running off the road/embankment or total loss.
- 60 UF + VAT: deductible applicable in the event of rollover, running off the road/embankment or total loss of the vehicle.
- For vehicles with capacity for more than 7 passengers, the applicable deductible increases by 10 UF + VAT.
General insurance coverage does not include damage to tires or glass, unless the renter has expressly purchased additional coverage that includes them.
The deductibles stated above apply to events covered by insurance. When damage or a claim occurs under circumstances excluded from coverage, the deductible does not necessarily constitute the limit of the renter's liability.
In the event of any accident, damage, theft or other claim, the renter must contact TP Rentacar immediately and follow the instructions provided for proper handling of the incident and the applicable coverage.
6Services, expenses and damage not included
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the reservation or purchased as an additional service, the rental rate does not include:
- Fuel.
- Transfers or ferry crossings.
- Admission fees to parks, protected areas or other facilities.
- Rescue, towing, transportation or vehicle return expenses when they are the renter's responsibility.
- Replacement of keys lost, misplaced or damaged due to the renter.
- Repair of tires due to punctures or other damage, nor transportation or supply of a replacement tire.
Regarding insurance, and as stated in Section 5, general coverage does not include damage to tires or glass, unless additional coverage that includes them has been expressly purchased.
When the vehicle is outside Chile, the possibility of providing assistance, replacing the vehicle or carrying out a rescue will be subject to the legal, customs, territorial and logistical restrictions applicable at the location of the incident.
Optional services and additional coverage purchased by the customer will be governed by the conditions informed at the time of reservation and by the rental agreement.
7Vehicle use and permitted roads
TP Rentacar vehicles may be used on authorized roads and routes suitable for vehicle traffic, whether paved or gravel.
Driving on gravel roads is permitted, provided they are authorized routes suitable for normal use of the rented vehicle. The driver must adapt speed and driving to road, weather and visibility conditions.
The vehicle may not be used for off-road driving or driven on tracks, beaches, dunes, unconsolidated terrain or areas that are not authorized roads for vehicle traffic, unless TP Rentacar has given prior and express authorization.
The renter must use the vehicle in accordance with its characteristics and category, avoiding situations that may unnecessarily expose it to damage or conditions for which it was not designed.
Taking the vehicle outside Chile requires prior authorization from TP Rentacar and compliance with the applicable documentation, permits and conditions.
8Reservation, pickup, return and rental extension
The reservation guarantees the vehicle category booked, but not necessarily a specific make or model. The vehicle delivered will have similar characteristics within the reserved category.
If, due to availability, maintenance, mechanical issues or another operational circumstance, a vehicle in the reserved category cannot be provided, TP Rentacar will inform the customer and may offer an available alternative.
The vehicle must be picked up and returned at the locations, dates and times agreed in the reservation and subsequently established in the rental agreement.
If the renter needs to keep the vehicle for longer, an extension must be requested before the rental expires. The request does not imply automatic approval: the extension must be expressly authorized by TP Rentacar, will be subject to availability and may result in additional charges.
If the vehicle is returned after the agreed date or time without a previously authorized extension, the applicable late-return charges may be applied in accordance with the rental agreement.
The vehicle must be returned with the fuel level recorded at the time of delivery, unless a different condition has been expressly agreed.
The fuel level, mileage and general condition of the vehicle may be recorded in the pickup and return checklist, which forms part of the rental documentation.
9Accidents, damage and claims
In the event of an accident, damage, theft or any other claim, the renter must contact TP Rentacar immediately and follow the instructions provided for proper handling of the incident and the applicable coverage.
If anyone is injured, the renter must also immediately notify the competent police authority.
The renter must not carry out repairs, authorize work or reach agreements with third parties related to the incident without prior authorization from TP Rentacar, except for urgent actions necessary to protect people or prevent further damage to the vehicle.
The renter must provide the records, documents, photographs and any other information required for proper handling of the claim and cooperate with TP Rentacar and the insurance company where applicable.
Charges arising from the claim that are the renter's responsibility will be informed by TP Rentacar and must be paid in accordance with the conditions and deadlines established in the rental agreement.
When the incident occurs outside Chile, assistance, rescue, transportation or return of the vehicle will be subject to the applicable legal, customs, territorial and logistical conditions.
